Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s outgoing payments and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of invoices, vendor payments, and expense reports. This role plays a critical part in maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting the organization’s financial integrity.
Job Description
- Process, verify, and record invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims accurately and on time.
- Ensure payments to vendors, suppliers, and service providers are processed according to agreed terms.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or disputes promptly.
- Maintain accurate accounts payable records and documentation for audit purposes.
- Coordinate with internal departments to validate invoices and obtain necessary approvals.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers, cheques, and other payment methods.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing by providing AP-related reports and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and statutory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Qualification and Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting
- Hotel experience is added advantage
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping, and payment processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Tally) and MS Excel.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
