Assistant Chief Engineer

To assist the Chief Engineer in daily operational management of maintenance tasks, ensuring quality, safety, and performance compliance across all systems. To support the Maintenance operation in managing daily engineering operations, preventive maintenance programs, and technical services to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable functioning of hotel facilities. The role ensures all equipment, systems, and infrastructure are maintained to company standards and regulatory requirements.

• Assist the Chief Engineer in executing the preventive maintenance program (target ≥90% task completion per month).

• Supervise maintenance technicians and ensure daily work orders are completed on schedule.

• Verify that all maintenance records are logged in the system within 24 hours of task completion.

• Ensure timely procurement and proper inventory of tools and spare parts (zero stock-outs).

• Inspect completed work for quality and safety compliance.

• Monitor power, water, and HVAC usage reports weekly for variances.

• Coordinate with Housekeeping and Front Office on guest-related maintenance issues.

• Ensure all maintenance staff attend toolbox safety meetings weekly.

• Train new technicians on equipment handling and safety procedures.

• Prepare daily shift reports summarizing progress, incidents, and follow-ups.

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years’ supervisory experience in maintenance within hospitality.
• Strong technical knowledge in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Excellent leadership and team coordination skills.
• Good problem-solving and time management abilities.
• Knowledge of safety standards and preventive maintenance procedures.
