Job Summary
The Bellman is responsible for providing warm hospitality and assisting guests with their luggage, transportation, and overall arrival and departure experience. The role ensures smooth lobby operations, delivers high standards of guest service, and supports the Front Office team in maintaining a welcoming environment.
Job Description
Guest Arrival & Departure Assistance
- Greet guests courteously at the entrance and lobby.
- Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage from vehicles.
- Escort guests to their rooms, explaining room features and hotel facilities.
- Deliver luggage to guest rooms promptly and safely.
- Assist with luggage pick-up upon check-out.
Luggage Handling & Storage
- Tag, record, and store guests’ luggage accurately in the luggage room.
- Ensure all luggage is handled carefully to prevent damage.
- Maintain proper control and tracking of stored items.
- Ensure trolleys and equipment are clean and in good condition.
Guest Support Services
- Provide information about hotel services, amenities, and surrounding areas.
- Assist guests with directions, transportation needs, taxi bookings, or shuttle services.
- Support guests with special needs, including elderly or disabled guests.
- Handle deliveries, messages, and packages for in-house guests.
Lobby & Entrance Management
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the lobby, entrance, and driveway areas.
- Help manage lobby traffic to ensure guest safety and smooth operations.
- Support security by observing and reporting any suspicious activities.
Coordination With Departments
- Communicate effectively with Front Office, Concierge, Housekeeping, and Security to ensure smooth guest service.
- Notify Housekeeping about guest room escorting and any requests made during escort.
Other Responsibilities
- Assist with wake-up calls, room moves, and other guest requests as needed.
- Deliver amenities, parcels, and special items to rooms.
- Follow all hotel service standards, grooming guidelines, and safety procedures.
- Support emergency response efforts (guiding guests, assisting evacuation, etc.).
Qualification and Requirements
- Certificate in Hospitality or relevant training (preferred but not mandatory).
- 2-3 years' experience in a hotel or customer service role is an advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit and able to lift and transport luggage.
- Positive attitude, polite, and guest oriented.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of local area and transportation options is an added advantage.
