Job Summary

The Cost Controller is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling the hotel’s operational costs to ensure financial efficiency and profitability. This role works closely with all departments, particularly finance, purchasing, and operations, to optimize cost management while maintaining service quality.

Job Description

  • Monitor daily operational costs, including food & beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, and other departmental expenses.
  • Conduct regular cost analysis, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed cost reports, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Review and verify invoices, purchase orders, and vendor bills for accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with department heads to implement cost-saving initiatives and control measures.
  • Conduct stock counts and reconcile inventory levels with purchases and consumption.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing with cost-related reports and reconciliations.
  • Provide management with accurate data for decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and trends in cost control.

Qualification and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in cost control, finance, or accounting in a hotel environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cost control principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, PMS, and Excel.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
