Job Summary
The Demi CDP – Hot Kitchen assists the Chef de Partie in operating a specific section of the hot kitchen. Responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes while maintaining quality, hygiene, and section organization.
Job Description
- Assist CDP in day-to-day operations of the hot kitchen section (grill, sauté, sauce, etc.).
- Prepare ingredients, mise-en-place, and cook dishes to standard recipes.
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Follow hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP).
- Ensure workstation is clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Supervise and guide Commis chefs during food preparation.
- Support CDP and Sous Chef during busy service periods.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
- Handle equipment safely and report maintenance issues.
Qualification and Requirements
- Culinary certificate/diploma.
- 4+ years of experience in a hot kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of basic cooking methods.
