Job Summary

They assist pastry chefs and other staff members and may also be responsible for administrative task. Supports the Pastry CDP in baking, pastry production, dessert preparation, and finishing work. Ensures consistency, creativity, and high-quality output in the pastry & bakery section. Assist in Pastry Production the pastry production process in a bakery or restaurant, ensuring that pastries are made to the highest quality standards.

Job Description

  • Assist in preparing cakes, pastries, breads, tarts, mousses, and desserts.
  • Support decorative work—chocolate garnishes, icing, glazing, and finishing.
  • Prepare mise-en-place for pastry and bakery production.
  • Maintain strict hygiene, storage, and temperature control.
  • Train and supervise junior staff in basic pastry techniques.
  • Ensure section cleanliness and proper equipment handling.
  • Assist in buffet and banquet dessert preparation.
  • Report stock shortages and maintain ingredient freshness.
  • Coordinate the activities of pastry chefs and bakers
  • Monitor the quality of products to ensure consistency and standards are maintained
  • Ensure adherence to recipes and presentation standards
  • Develop new dessert and pastry recipes for our menu
  • Train and mentor staff on new recipes and techniques
  • Ensure that kitchen safety regulations are followed
  • Manage inventory of baking supplies and equipment
  • Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence
  • Perform administrative tasks such as preparing reports and maintaining records


Qualification and Requirements

  • Diploma or Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking, or relevant field is preferred
  • Proven experience as a Pastry Production Supervisor or similar role in a bakery or restaurant
  • Proficiency in baking and decorating pastries, breads, and other baked goods
  • Excellent knowledge of pastry arts and baking techniques
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations
