Job Summary

To supervise and coordinate daily gardening activities, ensuring that the property’s outdoor spaces, gardens, and green areas are maintained to the highest standards. The Gardener Supervisor supports the Landscaping Manager in implementing horticultural plans and training gardening staff.

Job Description

Team Supervision

  • Supervise a team of gardeners, landscapers, and assistants.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor work quality, and ensure completion within set timelines.
  • Provide guidance, training, and on-the-job coaching to staff.
  • Conduct performance assessments and report observations to the Landscaping Manager.


Garden & Grounds Maintenance

  • Oversee planting, trimming, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and pest control activities.
  • Ensure lawns, flowerbeds, shrubs, and trees are well-maintained and visually appealing.
  • Monitor irrigation systems, sprinklers, and drainage to ensure proper functioning.
  • Inspect gardens and grounds regularly and report issues or improvements needed.


Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure safe use of gardening tools, machinery, and chemicals by the team.
  • Maintain adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Report any hazards, incidents, or unsafe practices immediately.


Planning & Coordination

  • Assist in implementing landscaping and planting schedules as directed by the Landscaping Manager.
  • Coordinate with other departments for special projects, events, or seasonal landscaping requirements.
  • Maintain records of gardening activities, chemical usage, and equipment maintenance.
  • Monitor gardening tools, equipment, and materials; request replenishment as needed.
  • Ensure proper care and storage of gardening tools and machinery.

Qualification and Requirements

  • 3–5 years of gardening experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in hotel, resort, or commercial landscaping is preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures, irrigation systems, and pest management
  • Knowledge of horticulture, gardening techniques, and plant care.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.
  • Attention to detail and aesthetic sense for garden appearance.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
