Junior Receptionist
Job Summary
The Junior Receptionist provides support to the Front Office team by assisting with basic guest services, administrative duties, and daily front desk operations. This entry-level role focuses on delivering friendly, efficient service while learning front office procedures, systems, and standards. The Junior Receptionist is expected to maintain professionalism, accuracy, and excellent customer service at all times.
Job Description
Guest Services
- Greet guests and visitors warmly upon arrival.
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures under supervision.
- Provide basic hotel information, directions, and support with guest inquiries.
- Assist in handling guest requests and reporting issues to senior team members.
- Support in managing luggage requests, transportation arrangements, and general concierge tasks.
Front Desk Operations
- Assist with answering phone calls and directing them to the appropriate departments.
- Prepare registration cards, room keys, and welcome materials.
- Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and presentable.
- Support in maintaining guest records and updating information in the PMS (under guidance).
- Help prepare daily lists such as arrivals, departures, and in-house reports.
- Assist with filing, photocopying, scanning, and handling basic correspondence.
- Support with managing lost & found records and documentation.
- Receive and sort guest messages, packages, and mail.
- Assist with stationery inventory, printing materials, and other office tasks.
Team Support & Development
- Work closely with senior receptionists and supervisors to learn SOPs and front office standards.
- Participate in training sessions for customer service, telephone handling, and system operations.
- Provide support to other front office team members during busy periods.
Qualification and Requirements
Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field
0–1 year experience in a receptionist or customer service role (fresh graduates encouraged).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer literacy (MS Office); experience with PMS is an advantage.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Enthusiastic, willing to learn, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
