Job Summary
To plan, manage, and oversee all landscaping and horticultural activities within the property. The Landscaping Manager ensures the grounds, gardens, and outdoor spaces are attractive, well-maintained, safe, and aligned with the property’s standards and guest expectations.
Job Description
Landscaping Planning & Design
- Develop and implement landscaping plans for gardens, lawns, flowerbeds, and outdoor recreational areas.
- Select plants, trees, shrubs, and decorative elements suitable for the property’s climate and aesthetics.
- Collaborate with management and designers for renovation, enhancement, or new landscaping projects.
Maintenance & Operations
- Supervise regular maintenance of lawns, flowerbeds, trees, and shrubs including watering, trimming, pruning, fertilizing, and pest control.
- Ensure irrigation systems, sprinklers, and drainage systems are functioning effectively.
- Monitor soil quality, plant health, and overall landscape appearance.
- Schedule and supervise landscaping team activities to maintain high standards.
Team Management
- Assign daily tasks, supervise work quality, and monitor performance.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and development opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and use of proper equipment.
- Monitor inventory of fertilizers, chemicals, tools, and machinery.
- Optimize resource utilization and control costs without compromising quality.
- Ensure safe operation of landscaping equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
- Comply with environmental regulations and sustainable landscaping practices.
- Maintain records of chemical usage, planting schedules, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare regular reports on landscaping activities, team performance, and project progress.
- Recommend improvements, upgrades, or new initiatives to enhance property aesthetics.
Qualification and Requirements
- Gardening, Horticulture, Landscape Management, Agriculture, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in landscaping management, preferably in hotels, resorts, or large properties.
- Proven experience managing a team of gardeners or landscaping staff.
- Knowledge of sustainable landscaping practices is an advantage.
- Strong physical fitness and ability to work outdoors
- Strong knowledge of horticulture, plant care, irrigation, and pest management
- Planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and aesthetic judgment.
- Knowledge of landscaping tools, equipment, and maintenance techniques.
