Job Summary
The Laundry Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the laundry department, ensuring efficient processing, quality control, and timely delivery of linens, uniforms, and guest laundry. The role supervises staff, monitors equipment, maintains cleanliness, and ensures adherence to standards of hygiene and productivity.
Job Description
Operations & Workflow Management
- Supervise day-to-day laundry operations including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and delivery.
- Allocate tasks and ensure staff work efficiently to meet departmental demands.
- Ensure all linens and uniforms are processed according to fabric type and hotel standards.
- Monitor laundry workflow to prevent delays and bottlenecks.
Staff Supervision & Training
- Supervise laundry attendants, pressers, washers, and runners.
- Train staff on correct machine operation, safety procedures, and fabric-handling techniques.
- Conduct daily briefings and communicate operational priorities.
- Assist in performance evaluations and staff development.
Quality Control
- Inspect processed laundry items for cleanliness, stains, and proper finishing.
- Ensure high standards of linen presentation and hygiene.
- Address guest or internal service departments on any laundry-related concerns.
Equipment & Safety
- Monitor proper usage of laundry machinery and equipment.
- Report any malfunctions to the Laundry Manager or Engineering team.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed when handling chemicals or equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area.
Inventory & Stock Control
- Monitor stock levels of detergents, chemicals, and supplies.
- Report shortages and assist with ordering requests.
- Track linen movement, losses, and damaged items.
Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate linen deliveries to Housekeeping, F&B, Spa, and other departments.

Qualification and Requirements
- Certificate/Diploma in Hospitality, Housekeeping, or Laundry Operations.
- 5 years of experience in hotel laundry operations, with at least 2 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of laundry procedures, stain removal, and fabric care.
- Ability to supervise staff and maintain high productivity.
- Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
