Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations, ensuring all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems are functioning efficiently. The role involves planning and supervising preventive maintenance programs, assigning tasks to technicians, and ensuring work quality and safety standards are met. The Maintenance Supervisor also coordinates with other departments to promptly address maintenance requests and supports the Engineering Manager in budgeting and project planning.
Job Description
- Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
- Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues
- Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality
- Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
- Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (custodians, janitors etc.)
- Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
- Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
- Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities
- Ensure health and safety policies are complied with
- Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities and staff performance.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
- Implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain records of maintenance work, tools, and equipment.
- Support in planning, budgeting, and managing maintenance projects.
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests to minimize operational downtime.
Qualification and Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience in maintenance within hospitality.
- Strong technical knowledge in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Excellent leadership and team coordination skills.
- Good problem-solving and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of safety standards and preventive maintenance procedures.
- OSHA safety training certification preferred.
