Job Description

  • Prepare and bake a wide variety of pastries, breads, cakes, and other baked goods.
  • Design and develop new recipes for our dessert menu.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Order and maintain inventory of baking ingredients and supplies.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff on pastry techniques and preparation.
  • Ensure pastries are prepared and served on time for restaurant service and catered events.
  • Handle and resolve any issues or complaints regarding the pastry section.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate meal service and menus.
  • Monitor baking procedures and costs, and make changes as needed to maintain quality and profitability.
  • Creating and testing new dessert recipes.
  • Designing menus that align with seasonal ingredients and dining trends.
  • Supervising kitchen staff to ensure culinary standards are consistently met.
  • Maintaining inventory and ordering kitchen supplies as needed.
  • Implementing quality control to guarantee food safety and presentation


Qualification and Requirements

  • Culinary school diploma, baking and pastry certification, or relevant field is required.
  • Proven work experience as a Baking and Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role in the culinary industry.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry arts and baking techniques.
  • Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with baking and pastry equipment, like mixers, ovens, and dough sheeters.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Creativity in crafting unique desserts and pastries.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
