Job Summary
The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms to the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and presentation. This role ensures that guests enjoy a comfortable and pleasant stay by providing spotless, well-prepared rooms and replenishing amenities as required.
Job Description
Room Cleaning & Preparation
- Clean and maintain guest rooms, suites, and corridors according to hotel standards.
- Change bed linens, make beds, and ensure proper room presentation.
- Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and polish furniture and floors.
- Clean bathrooms, replenish toiletries, and ensure proper hygiene.
- Replenish in-room amenities such as coffee, tea, water, stationery, and minibar items as per hotel standards.
Guest Service & Assistance
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests related to room services.
- Report any special guest requirements or VIP requests to the supervisor.
- Handle guest belongings with care and respect privacy at all times.
Maintenance & Safety
- Report maintenance issues such as plumbing, electrical, or HVAC problems to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Engineering department.
- Follow safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals, equipment, and guest belongings.
- Maintain awareness of hotel safety and emergency protocols.
Inventory & Equipment Management
- Use cleaning supplies and equipment efficiently and responsibly.
- Report shortages of amenities, linens, or cleaning supplies to the supervisor.
- Ensure proper storage and care of housekeeping tools and equipment.
Quality Control
Ensure rooms meet the hotel’s cleanliness and presentation standards before guest check-in.
Participate in daily room inspections conducted by supervisors.
Maintain attention to detail and consistency in all housekeeping duties.
Qualification and Requirements
- Certificate in hospitality or housekeeping is an advantage.
- 1–2 years of experience as a room attendant or in housekeeping is preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and carry items as needed.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and time management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
