Job Description
Sales Strategy & Business Development
- Proactive Sales: Actively solicit new accounts and market segments through direct sales calls, cold calls, networking events, trade shows, and online platforms.
- Market Penetration: Develop and implement effective sales action plans to penetrate target markets and increase market share.
- Site Inspections: Conduct professional and engaging site inspections and presentations for prospective clients, effectively showcasing the hotel’s facilities and services.
- Proposal Management: Create compelling, customized proposals and contracts that align with client needs and hotel profitability guidelines.
- Rate Negotiation: Negotiate and close sales contracts, ensuring all terms and conditions are clearly defined and profitable for the hotel.
Account Management & Client Relations
- Key Account Maintenance: Nurture and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing corporate and group clients to ensure repeat business and customer loyalty.
- Client Entertainment: Coordinate and host client events, meals, and familiarization trips as needed to build rapport and goodwill.
- Service Excellence: Act as a key liaison between the client and the hotel operations team to ensure a seamless and high-quality guest experience.
Administration & Reporting
- CRM Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all sales activities, client communication, and account details in the Sales CRM system (e.g., Delphi, Salesforce).
- Forecasting & Budgeting: Director of Commercial in preparing monthly and quarterly sales forecasts, annual budgets, and market segment performance reports.
- Market Intelligence: Continuously monitor local competitor activities, pricing strategies, and industry trends, providing regular updates to the Revenue Management and Sales team.
Qualification and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Equivalent proven experience may be considered.
- A minimum of 6+ years of proven, successful proactive sales experience, preferably within a full-service hotel environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated proficiency with hotel sales and catering software
- Strong understanding of fundamental Revenue Management principles.
- Ability to travel locally for sales calls and occasionally out-of-town for industry events.
