Security Supervisor
Job Summary
The Security Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of guests, employees, and hotel property at Catalonia Grand Zanzibar. This role oversees the daily operations of the security team, monitors compliance with safety procedures, and coordinates emergency responses when needed. The position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage incidents calmly and efficiently. The Security Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining a secure environment through patrol coordination, control of access points, supervision of CCTV systems, and collaboration with internal departments and local authorities.
Job Description
1. Operational Supervision
- Supervise the security guards during daily and night shifts.
- Coordinate internal and external patrols throughout the hotel to prevent incidents.
- Monitor access points, doors, sensitive areas, storage rooms, and the hotel perimeter.
- Review control logs, shift reports, and security records.
2. Guest and Employee Protection
- Ensure a secure environment for guests and staff in all hotel areas.
- Respond immediately to emergencies, accidents, thefts, or any risk situations.
- Support guest assistance protocols in sensitive situations (PMSR – Protection, Management, Safety & Response).
3. Compliance and Control
- Ensure that all hotel security policies and procedures are strictly followed.
- Supervise the functioning and maintenance of security equipment: CCTV systems, radios, alarms, detectors, and access control systems.
- Verify the correct use of uniforms, equipment, and conduct from the security team.
4. Administrative Management
- Prepare daily reports, incident reports, and event logs.
- Maintain the hotel’s risk assessment updated and participate in internal audits.
- Coordinate team training in first aid, emergency response, evacuation, crisis management, and fire prevention.
- Assist in internal investigations related to incidents or losses.
5. Interdepartmental Coordination
- Work closely with Front Office, Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Human Resources.
- Participate in operational meetings and report relevant findings to the Security Manager.
- Coordinate with local authorities when required (police, medical services, fire department).
