Job Summary
The Senior Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and high service standards throughout the hotel. This role supervises housekeeping staff, conducts inspections, and ensures all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet the hotel’s quality expectations.
Job Description
Supervision & Team Management
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff, including room attendants, public area attendants, and laundry personnel.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to team members to maintain service standards.
- Monitor staff performance and attendance, providing feedback to management when necessary.
- Ensure staff adhere to hotel grooming, uniform, and conduct standards.
Room & Public Area Inspections
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, suites, and public areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation meet hotel standards.
- Identify maintenance issues and communicate with Engineering or relevant departments for resolution.
- Ensure proper preparation of VIP rooms and special guest requests.
Operational Support
- Assist in planning daily cleaning schedules, staffing, and room assignments.
- Monitor the housekeeping workflow and allocate tasks efficiently during peak periods.
- Ensure proper use, care, and storage of cleaning equipment, tools, and chemicals.
Guest Service & Quality Assurance
- Respond promptly to guest requests and complaints related to housekeeping services.
- Ensure guest rooms are prepared to exceed expectations, including amenities, linen, and cleanliness standards.
- Monitor and maintain quality control measures for laundry and housekeeping operations.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, cleaning schedules, lost & found items, and staff attendance.
- Prepare reports on room readiness, VIP preparations, and housekeeping operations.
- Assist management in inventory control and ordering of cleaning supplies, amenities, and linens.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Conduct staff training on proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Promote a safe working environment within the housekeeping department.
Qualification and Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of housekeeping experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning standards, and hygiene practices.
- Leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with housekeeping management systems is an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
