Job Summary

The Steward Supervisor supports the Chief Steward in supervising stewarding operations, ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and smooth functioning of kitchen equipment and back-of-house areas.

Job Description

  • Supervise daily activities of stewards to ensure cleaning standards are met.
  • Conduct spot checks on dishwashing areas, garbage rooms, and kitchen floors.
  • Guide and train stewards on proper cleaning procedures and safety practices.
  • Assist with daily breakage control and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, sanitized, and stored properly.
  • Report maintenance issues to the Chief Steward or Engineering department.
  • Ensure proper waste segregation and disposal processes.
  • Coordinate with chefs to ensure utensils and equipment are available on time.
  • Assist in preparing cleaning schedules and duty rosters.
  • Monitor chemical usage and ensure correct dilution procedures.
  • Lead deep cleaning whenever required.

Qualification and Requirements

  • Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of stewarding experience, including team leadership.
  • Good knowledge of hygiene standards, cleaning chemicals, and equipment.
  • Ability to supervise, motivate, and train staff effectively.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
