Tailor

The Tailor is responsible for performing all tailoring and alteration tasks for guest garments, staff uniforms, and hotel linens. The position ensures high-quality stitching, mending, and fitting services while maintaining hotel standards of presentation, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

• Perform alterations, mending, and repairs on guest clothing and staff uniforms.
• Take accurate body measurements for proper fitting and adjustments.
• Hemming, patching, resizing, replacing zippers, buttons, and performing embroidery (if required).
• Inspect garments before and after alterations to ensure quality finish.
• Maintain and repair hotel uniforms to ensure they are clean, neat, and presentable.
• Perform minor repairs on linens, including stitching tears and reinforcing edges.
• Ensure uniforms are labeled, stored, and issued correctly.
• Handle guest tailoring requests professionally, ensuring timely completion.
• Provide advice to guests and staff on garment handling and fabric care.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect for guest property.
• Maintain tailoring room equipment, including sewing machines, irons, and tools.
• Monitor inventory for tailoring materials such as threads, needles, zippers, and buttons.
• Ensure the tailoring area is clean, organized, and safe.
• Record all tailoring requests, repairs, and completed items as required.

• Proven experience as a tailor, seamstress, or similar role.
• Strong sewing, fitting, and alteration skills (hand and machine).
• Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Knowledge of different fabrics and garment construction.
• Basic record-keeping and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and customer service skills
