Oversees wine inventory, training, and ensures premium wine presentation and service standards. A knowledgeable and passionate Wine Sommelier with expert understanding of global wines, vineyards, varietals, and food pairing techniques. Skilled in curating wine lists, managing cellar operations, and delivering exceptional, personalized wine service to guests. Demonstrated ability to educate both guests and staff, enhancing overall dining experiences and contributing to increased wine sales and guest satisfaction. Known for excellent communication, refined presentation, and the ability to make informed recommendations that elevate meals and create memorable dining moments.
Job Description
- Recommend wines to guests, pairing selections with menu items.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of international wines, vineyards, varietals, and tasting notes.
- Manage wine inventory, ordering, stock rotation, and cellar organization.
- Conduct wine tastings and support wine-pairing events or promotions.
- Train service staff on wine knowledge, service techniques, and upselling.
- Ensure proper wine storage, handling, and presentation.
- Create or update the wine list in collaboration with F&B management.
- Engage with guests professionally to enhance their dining experience.
- Maintain accurate beverage cost control and consumption reports.
- Handle guest preferences, VIP requests, and special occasions.
Qualification and Requirements
- Certified sommelier or Experienced Wine sommelier
- 2–4 years of sommelier or advanced wine service experience.
- Strong wine knowledge and pairing expertise.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and customer-service skills.
